The Stuff that MattRs

Monday Motivation. Let this week be the one that you establish great ways for your team to work together. Iโ€™m sharing a simple but mighty exercise that sets your team up for high impact success - establishing team norms.

Freestuff. Another batch of ten great free websites that you should bookmark. I have some great tools this time around, including a clever timezone display, a useful speed test and a personalised workout builder. Previous freestuff here.

Productivity. One key Idea from each of the ten best business books. Iโ€™ve read all of these except #8 which looks like a great book.  Some excellent tips included here. 

Momentum. Schedule the meeting before the work is done. Not only do you keep momentum, you also create a forcing function to get the work completed. 

Mindset. The difference between a growth mindset and a reset mindset. I like the differential here, and how your approach to understanding the world around you can be altered. Bonus Stuff. We never stop growing, whatever stage of life you are at.

Gratitude. How to be thankful for your life. A simple reset that can really help you find gratitude for what you have. Beautifully illustrated article. Bonus Stuff. Scientific proof that gratitude has a positive influence on your life. 

Habits. Drinking more water. Journaling. Working out regularly. Writing a page of that book. All habits that can be formed. Hereโ€™s how to form habits in real life. 

Listening. Beyond active listening, there is exquisite listening. I like this concept, if you need to build those skills, then my guide to active listening is a great start

Meditation. How to get started, and why itโ€™s great for your mental health.  

Finally. Binary Game. To be an engineer, binary conversion is a great skill. Hereโ€™s a fun way to practice.
