Stuff Mixtape #35 is a beautiful hour that reflects the transition into Spring in my ears... I hope you enjoy!
Here's why each of these incredible tunes made it into my playlist.
- Major Tom (Völlig losgelöst) - Peter Schilling | All over the TV on a commercial at the moment, a forgotten signal from the 80's.
- Bonnet of Pins - Matt Berninger | New solo material from The National front man, dense and interesting.
- Calvados - Peter Doherty | Bucolic french fun from Libertines/Babyshambles singer - love this
- Spacehopper - Turin Brakes | First track from returning Stuff favourites, first heard this whilst walking around Seattle.
- Stranger - Gabriels | Just wow, what a voice and what a track.
- Dark will Fall - Bonobo and Jacob Lusk | Taken from the soundtrack to Lazarus, blistering tune
- Different - Barry can't Swim | New dancefloor burner from the really likeable DJ/Producer. Sounds of summer here.
- Running to the Sea (True Electric) - Röyksopp & Susanne Sundfor | Amped up live version of this excellent pop song from Norwegian geniuses.
- World Away - Etienne de Crecy & Alexis Taylor | Bouncy, frenchtouch tune with brilliant vocals from Hot Chip front man Taylor
- raat ki rani - Arooj Aftab & Khruangbin | Beautiful track, remixed with the unmistakable sound of Texas Soul.
- Ça n'existe pas - Iliona | Ethereal singer-songwriter from France, one to watch?
- In the sound of Breathing - Sages | Scandinavian supergroup collaboration, Olafur Arnalds with Loreen on vocals.
- I remember - Molly Drake | The mother of Nick Drake, saw this covered at a live show by Chanele McGuinness, such a lovely gentle song.
- Futō - Shida Shahabi | From Sweden, but full of beautiful Eastern influence. This is a stunner.
- On Being - Max Cooper & Felix Gerbelot | Ambient, chill masterclass from one of the best.
