Travel

I spent this week on the move, flying to Seattle on Monday for a week with my team. I didn't get a huge amount of time to reacquaint myself with a city that I enjoy, but I did get a few hours on Friday afternoon to head downtown and see how the skyline of the city had changed.

Whilt exploring I found Seattle Antiques and found piece of all-American ephemera from my birthdate, which I'd never seen before.

A June 1969 copy of Playboy magazine.

The Meta office in Seattle is a beauty, loads of space and fun for a work environment. The office was busy every day, but we found some time to explore.

My recommendation this week is a playlist created by Richard James (Aphex Twin) for Supreme clothing which is a mammoth affair containing 12 hours of (mostly) mellow tunes. There are some terrific tunes on here.

Highly recommended.

I watched three movies on the way to the US. Here are my short Letterboxd reviews:

A β˜…β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½ review of Bird (2024)
Phenomenal film. Great performances. Harrowing at times, but worth pushing through.
A β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½ review of The Outrun (2024)
I enjoyed this, the story of a young alcoholic who escapes from London to the Orkney Islands to reclaim life. Some lovely performances and wild island views.
A β˜…β˜…β˜…Β½ review of Wolfs (2024)
Enjoyable caper of a movie, Pitt and Clooney play two β€˜fixers’ who get assigned the same clean-up job after a dead body is found in an upscale hotel. A lot of fun, and worth the time.
